Tue. 21 Jun. - 1st post from Atlanta

Yesterday (Tuesday) was the travelling day... Taxi pick-up from Home, to Heathrow where we did bag drop and got some breakfast at Eat. This was our first time at the new revamped ternminal 2. Quite imporessed, and it wqasn't too busy which helped.
We were seated on the plaqne by 11:45 but departure was deleayed about 20 mins.

Subsequently we were behind schedule coming into Torronto, where we would otherwise have had 90 mins to transfer to the onward flight down to Atlanta.

What came next we wern't prepared for - huge queues to go through security again, and then having to jump through several hoops to get through US customs and immigration (done at Torronto rather than at Atlanta) and we were now short on time, and only just made it - but they help the flight and we did make it. That flight was good and releaxed.

So at Atlanta we were just like domestic arrivals now - so now passports or anything to show - just like arriving at Southampton from an internal UK flight.
At this point it went a bit pear shaped - our checkedin bags failed to arrive with us, and to make it worse there was no Air Canada representative to be found to report it to.

Ok , so we just took a cab to the hotel. no problkem with that. fixed price $38

So to the hotel, where we recieved a warm welcome.
We're in the Residence Inn Downtown Atlanta, on the 13th floor. I kike it a lot. we have a suite, like a little appartment. very well equiped.

Managed to stave off sleep till 10pm, and di manage to dtay in bed till 6.30 n4ext morning.

Got uyp and got on to Air Canade via webchat, which worked well, they gave us the file reference number for our claim, and siad the bags had been forwarded on to Atlanta and we should expoect them to be delivered to our hotel today. fingers crossed then.

we've just taken breakfast in the hotel - very good, looking forward to it tomorrow!

ok bye for now, T & K
